New 13 member Korean boy group Topp Dogg – P-Goon, Kidoh, Yano, Jenissi, Xero, Hansol, Nakta, B-Joo, Hojoon, A-TOM, Seogoong, Sangdo and Gohn – staged their debut showcase on 22nd October and released their first mini album ‘Dogg’s Out’ on 24th October. With the title song ‘Say It’ Topp Dogg displayed a hip-hop concept, showcased their strong stage presence, rapping and dancing skills all at once. Within weeks since their first debut stage, the group has already caught the attention of many and received love calls from many countries around the world.
Recently, we did an interview with Topp Dogg to find out more about the group and their future plans. Below are Q&As from the interview.
Topp Dogg : The name of Topp Dogg is made by Cho PD who is the boss in STARDOM Entertainment. The meaning is winner. We love this name. We think that we can be a true winner if we have a competition with ourselves.
Q : Please introduce yourselves and what Topp Dogg means to you.
Topp Dogg : Topp Dogg is a group of specialists. We have a plan for each member’s music. ToppDogg is our basecamp for ourselves.^^
Q : From your first debut album ‘Dogg’s Out’ , which song does Topp Dogg members like the most and Why?
Topp Dogg : We like the title song ‘Say it’ This is very powerful and funny song. Most of all, all membes of ToppDogg participate in this song.
Kidoh : Fist of all, I love ‘A girl like that’ and ‘Playground’. Especially, ‘A girl like that’ is special to me because this song is made of my love story. (Now we know where Kidoh got his inspirations from!)
Q : Topp Dogg is a hip-hop group, what other genres do Topp Dogg members like and would like to try out in the future?
Topp Dogg : Well, many fans think that Topp Dogg is a hip-hop group, but Topp Dogg is a music performance group. Our members like various genres for example dance, R&B, soul, EDM (electronic dance music) and etc.
Q : Topp Dogg has received love calls from various countries, how do you feel when knowing that Topp Dogg is loved by so many fans overseas?
Topp Dogg : It was so surprised that so many fans love our music Since our mixtape. We hope fans provide ourselves with a chance to reciprocate some time soon.
Q : Please share with fans how Topp dogg’s dorm life is like?
Topp Dogg : We live in two house. Jenissi, Sang-do, Gohn, Nackta, Han-sol, Yano live in a house together and the rest members live in another house. It’s the company’s decision on who will be the one to do house chores. (Seems like there’s duty roster in the house!)
Q : If you were given a day off to do anything you want, what will you do?
Topp Dogg : Well, we want to go sleep^0^ Nowadays, we are so busy that we can’t sleep well.
Q : Who are you admiring seniors?
Topp Dogg : P-Goon and Jenissi is a admiring seniors. P-Goon is a leader of ToppDogg. He always take the initiative and set an example. Jenissi is so kind to others.
Q : Have you received any interesting fan gift?
Topp Dogg : On our first broadcast debut day, fans send a cake which is ToppDogg logo –shaped. It was really impressive.
Q : 2013 is coming to an end soon, what are your current goal and future plans?
Topp Dogg : We have a lot of plan for unit and solo. We really hope that each unit and solo album and performance. However, most of all we would like to meet our fans in our live. To do that, we does our best. Next song is already in preparation. In the near future you will hear good news.
Q : Lastly, please say a few words to international fans of Topp dogg .
Topp Dogg : Most of all, We appreciate with your favor and interest. Finally we debut with 1st album [Dogg’s out]. We should like to let public know Topp Dogg and Togg Dogg’s music.
